Effective October 28, 2026. Auto Body Check (autobodycheck.com) is operated by Winback Engine (“we”, “us”). By using the site you agree to these terms. If you don’t agree, please don’t use the site.
What Auto Body Check is
Auto Body Check is an independent directory of auto body, collision repair, paint and dent repair shops. We collect publicly available information — mostly from each business’s own website and, for registration numbers, the California Bureau of Automotive Repair’s public register — and link to our sources. We don’t repair vehicles, we don’t take bookings or payments, we don’t handle insurance claims, and we are not a party to anything you arrange with a shop or an insurer.
Information can be wrong or out of date
Hours, services, certifications, warranties, staff, photos and policies change. Every detail is shown with its source and the date we checked it, but we can’t guarantee it is current or complete. Certifications are shown as the shop states them and are not verified with the carmaker. Always confirm with the shop before leaving your vehicle. Nothing on Auto Body Check is legal, insurance or repair advice; our guides are general information.
No endorsement, no invented ratings
Being listed is not an endorsement or a quality rating. The trust check shows which details we could verify from public sources; a missing item means we couldn’t confirm it, not that a shop is bad. We don’t write reviews or star ratings and we don’t copy them from other platforms — we link to them.
Featured shops
Some owner-verified shops are Featured. Featured shops have had a call with Winback Engine about its customer-reactivation service and may be Winback Engine customers. They carry a visible “Featured” label and can appear first in the default sort. Featuring never changes a shop’s trust check, credentials, photos or review links. More about Featured.
Photos, names and logos
Photos are credited and linked to where they were published, usually the shop’s own website. Business names and logos are shown only to identify the business and belong to their owners. We don’t show photos that are AI-generated or scraped from map services.
If you own a photo, or you’re pictured in one, and want it removed, use the “Request removal” link on the photo or email hello@autobodycheck.com with the page link and your connection to the photo. We aim to remove it within 2 business days. You don’t need to prove anything for a removal; we’d rather take a photo down than keep one someone objects to.
Shop owners who claim a profile can choose to let us display photos from their website and social accounts. By ticking that box you confirm you own or have the rights to those photos and grant Auto Body Check a free, non-exclusive license to display them on your profile and in links to it. You can withdraw that permission at any time by emailing us, and we’ll take the photos down.
Other corrections and removals
Anyone can suggest a correction from any shop profile. Owners can claim their listing for free. To ask us to remove a listing or any other content, email hello@autobodycheck.com.
Your submissions
When you submit a claim, correction or new shop, you confirm the information is accurate and that you’re allowed to share it. We review submissions before anything changes on a public listing and may decline or edit them. Don’t submit anything unlawful, misleading, or that you don’t have the right to share.
Acceptable use
Don’t misuse the site: no scraping at volume, no attempts to break security, no impersonating a business owner, and no automated submissions.
Links to other sites
We link to shop websites, estimate tools, review platforms, government registers and social accounts. We don’t control them and aren’t responsible for their content, prices or practices.
Disclaimers and limits
The site is provided “as is”, without warranties of any kind. To the fullest extent the law allows, we aren’t liable for any indirect or consequential loss, or for anything arising from a repair, estimate, insurance claim or business you find through the site. Nothing in these terms limits rights you have that can’t be limited by law.
Changes and contact
We may update these terms; the effective date above will change when we do. These terms are governed by the laws of California. Questions: hello@autobodycheck.com.
